Technological background and manufacturing competencies

K&K 95 Kft.’s technological capabilities enable the entire brake hose manufacturing process to be carried out in-house, from the extrusion of the rubber hose through the machining and electroplating of the fittings all the way to final assembly.

This vertically integrated manufacturing model ensures exceptional flexibility, short lead times, and a high level of quality assurance.

01.

Rubber Hose Extrusion

The first step in the production of brake hoses is the manufacture of rubber tubing on our own extruder.

The extrusion process allows for:
• precise control of the material composition of the inner and outer layers (EPDM base material)

• the precise placement and orientation of the fabric inserts (PVA, PES)

• continuous control of wall thickness and diameter

The hoses produced in this manner meet the requirements of the SAE J1401 standard, including:

• Brake fluid resistance

• ozone resistance

• mechanical flexibility and durability

02.

Fitting Manufacturing – Precision CNC Machining

The steel fittings used at the ends of the brake lines are manufactured using our own CNC machinery.

Machining operations:

• automatic turning (production of threaded and smooth ends)

• Design of holes, notches, and joint areas

• visual and dimensional inspection

Manufacturing may take place:

• based on the customer's drawing

• Based on OEM specifications

• by reverse engineering a prototype

We ensure high precision and repeatability throughout the manufacturing process.

03.

Electroplating – In-house surface treatment facility

We provide corrosion protection for the fittings at our own electroplating facility.

Technology used:
• zinc-based electrolytic plating
• white (bluish) passivation
• hexavalent chromium-free, RoHS-compliant process

Quality control:
• Coating thickness measurement using X-ray fluorescence (XRF) equipment
• Documented inspection of every production batch

This ensures long-term corrosion resistance and compliance with OEM/IAM requirements.

04.

Assembly and pressing

Rubber hoses and fittings are assembled using automatic and semi-automatic press machines.

For all product types:
• the molding parameters (pressure, profile, cycle time) are validated
• the connections undergo mechanical testing
• each manufactured unit is registered with a unique part number and LOT identifier

All finished products undergo a 100% pressure test.

Custom manufacturing – prototypes and small batches

Our manufacturing system enables:
• reverse engineering based on physical samples
• CAD-based design
• prototype manufacturing
• small-batch production (up to 10–50 units)

• specialty vehicle manufacturers
